Should Chimpanzees Be Considered ‘Persons’?
1. Whose viewpoint is expressed? The viewpoint is expressed by Jeff Sebo.He is the director of the animal studies program at New york University

2. What does the author want us to think? The autor want us to think about the concept about "human" and  "Person" so he makes a comparison with Chimpanzes that are being held in cages by their owners.Thereofore, the goal is that chimpanzes have freedom and live in their habitat with other animals. For that reason the autor want to emphasize that chimpanzees are people because they have the rights and they deserve that everyone seem to them as people.

3. What viewpoint is not expressed? Whose voice do we not hear?
I think that the viewpoint that is not expressed is the group of philosophers, who  submitted an amicus curiae brief to the New York Court of Appeals in support of legal personhood for Kiko and Tommy because this articule just mention and do not provide the argument.
4. What is an alternative perspective of the text?
I think that alternative perspective of the text is change the mind of people about animals which they be aware that they are people and they need rights as us

5. Can you think of other questions this text responds to?
Does Human and person mean the same?
Animal should have rights?
Why chimpanzes are considered animals ?
